Skilled
Nursing Care
Pelican Valley Nursing Home provides 24-hour care for
38 residents. Both long and short-term needs are served.
Quality Nursing Care
The quality of care we provide is accomplished by staff who are trained and/or certified to care for the individual needs of each resident. We provide
nursing care according to each resident's particular functioning level, ranging from early dementia to medically complex needs. Hospice services are available, as appropriate.
Care of the resident is directed by an attending physician. Residents have the convenience of using our clinic that is attached to the nursing home for easy access to care provided by
MeritCare.
A Licensed Registered Dietitian Consultant works with our dietary and nursing staff to provide an ongoing assessment of each resident's nutritional status. We focus on a "liberalized diet system" that allows residents to eat freely, however specialized diets are provided when appropriate.
Pelican Valley Nursing Home is certified for Medicare and Medicaid (Medical Assistance).
Social Services
Social Services is responsible for admissions, discharges, waiting lists and filling vacancies in the nursing home. The caring philosophy of the Social Services Department is to help residents maximize their abilities and live to their highest potential by being an advocate for them.
Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy
Each resident is assessed by a therapist upon admission. Our professional staff provides residents with individual restorative or maintenance programs based on need. The services of a Registered Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapist are available five days a week.
